Testing happens before the shipment leaves, not after a claim

We keep a testing bench in the Arambagh unit so colour fastness, rub and wash results come back the same day rather than a week later from an outside lab. That is the difference between catching a shade problem on the first-off sample and catching it in your warehouse.

  • Nothing runs in bulk before a physical sample is approved in writing.
  • Rejects are counted and reported — you get the number, not a rounded one.
  • The person who quoted your job follows it through production and delivery.

Check points

Five places a batch is checked

Quality control that only happens at the end of the line is inspection, not control.

01

Incoming material

Yarn, ribbon, film and board checked against the pre-certified material list before anything is loaded.

02

First-off sample

The first piece off every run is measured and colour-matched against the approved sample, and signed.

03

In-line inspection

Shade, weave defects, print registration and cut edges watched through the run, not only at the end.

04

100% final check

Every piece is looked at before packing. Rejects are pulled, counted and reported with the shipment.

05

Packing and count

Counted into the agreed pack size, barcoded and sealed, with the count on the carton and the packing list.

In the lab

What we test, and what we test it against

The routine panel. If your protocol names a different method or grade, say so on the RFQ and we test to yours.

Test Method Applies to Acceptance
Colour fastness to washing ISO 105-C06 Woven and printed labels, tapes, elastics Grade 4 or better, or the buyer's nominated grade
Colour fastness to rubbing ISO 105-X12 Woven labels, patches, drawcords Dry grade 4, wet grade 3–4
Colour fastness to perspiration ISO 105-E04 Anything worn against the skin Grade 4 or better
Dimensional check Approved sample Every article Within the tolerance agreed at approval
Print adhesion and legibility Tape pull · visual Care labels, barcode and QR stickers No lift; barcode scans first pass
Tensile and tip retention Pull test Drawcords, tipped cords Tip holds to the agreed load

Methods are the ones our buyers most commonly nominate. Third-party testing at SGS, Intertek or Bureau Veritas is arranged on request and billed at cost.

Testing in our own lab

We run an in-house testing lab with modern equipment, so colour fastness, rub and wash performance are checked before a shipment leaves us rather than after a claim arrives. Where a buyer nominates a third-party laboratory, we submit to that laboratory and forward the report with the shipment.

What we check on every order

  • Colour. Approved swatch against production, under your specified light source.
  • Construction. Weave density, yarn count, tape width and cord diameter against the approved sample.
  • Durability. Wash and rub fastness on labels; pull and crimp strength on cord tips; attachment strength on buttons and rivets.
  • Data. Every barcode is scan-verified. Variable-data stickers are checked against your own file, not retyped.
  • Count and pack. 100% visual inspection, then counted, bagged and cartoned to your packing list.

Compliance

Our certification is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 at Product Class I — the strictest class, applied to articles for babies and toddlers. It carries with it conformity against REACH Annex XVII (including azo colourants and nickel release), the US CPSIA requirement on total lead content in children's articles, and the Chinese national standard GB 18401:2010.

Certificates with numbers and validity dates are published on our certifications page. If you need a current copy for a vendor file, ask and we will send it the same day.

Paperwork

What your compliance team receives

Documentation that can be filed as it arrives. Chasing a vendor for a test report after the goods have landed is the failure mode we design against.

  • Test report for the article, against the standard your buyer nominates
  • The OEKO-TEX® certificate covering the certified article range
  • A packing list with piece counts per carton and per article code
  • The approved sample reference and the approval date
  • A declaration of conformity where the buyer's protocol requires one

What these standards mean for you

Our labels are tested against the standards your compliance team already asks for.

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100

Tested for harmful substances, at the strictest class

Product Class I is the level applied to articles for babies and toddlers — the strictest of the four classes. A label certified at Class I is accepted for every other class of garment.

REACH Annex XVII

Restricted substances for the EU market

Annex XVII covers azo colourants and nickel release, among others. This is the list your EU compliance officer checks first.

CPSIA

Lead content for the US market

The American requirement on total lead content in children's articles, which applies to trims as well as fabric.

GB 18401:2010

Chinese national textile standard

GB 18401:2010 sets formaldehyde, pH, colour fastness and odour limits for textile products sold in China.

Certifications and compliance Certificates are being renewed. Ask us and we will send the current document directly.
